Hendon made the trip up the A1 to Hitchin Town on Monday evening where they played out a goalless draw in the latest friendly. Clear chances during the game were at a premium, but there was some good football played by both sides.
The Greens fielded two new trialists, in the form of forwards Aaron Lansiquot and Aaron Morgan, both of whom had impressed Gary McCann whilst playing for Hillingdon Borough last Thursday.
Hitchin were the brighter side as the game commenced, but they were unable to get much change out of the Greens defence. As the half continued, Hendon took control of the game, and whilst both Lansiquot and Glenn Garner worked hard, they were marshalled well by the Hitchin back line.
The two forwards were replaced by Morgan and Mariusz Serwin respectively at half time, and the second period started in the same manner as the first, with Hitchin having the better of the game. James Reading was forced into one smart save when he pushed a shot out for a corner via the post.
As the half continued, Morgan began to make an impression, and worked a number of openings up for both himself and his team-mates. One of these was the best chance of the game for the Greens, but Jamie Busby's shot was deflected wide for a corner.
The game ended with both managers probably satisfied with their respective team's performances.
