Hendon reserves took on Haringey Borough in the Middlesex Millennium Cup with a young squad made up largely of trialists, including two 16 year olds. The team conceded an early goal, and failed to test the opposition in the first twenty minutes. Gradually, Hendon worked their way into the game, and created several opportunities for an equaliser, none of which were converted.
The second half saw a much improved performance as the team passed the ball around with more speed and quality. A fine move involving both 16 year olds, Jack Woodcraft and Chad Edwards, led to an early equaliser when Edwards scored from 15 yards out. With Hendon now well on top, Warren Clarke capped an excellent performance with a well executed goal. This was followed by deserved goals from Jack Woodcraft and Roy Santos while Haringey scored a second from a highly dubious penalty award.
Overall, after a slow start, the team dominated the game and produced some bright and inventive football. There were several encouraging performances including the return from injury of Danny Julienne, who played an impressive 45 minutes.
