Our Isthmian League baptism at Clapton's Spotted Dog ground took place last Saturday.
The boys played extremely well in the first half and were, in fact, leading 2-0 at the interval through Peter Salde and a brilliantly taken penalty by Tony Knox, skipper for the day, after Gerry O'Rourke had been floored in the area.
We let Clapton off the so called hook in the second half and they came back with a goal by centre-forward Colin Crane, to cut back what should have been a run-away victory.
Still, it was a win.
