The ten goals the boys banged in against poor Dulwich Hamlet last Saturday did our goal average a power of good, though it is fair to say a few more chances were frittered away.
The founders of the goal-feast were roaring Gerry O'Rouke (4), sharp-shooter David Hyde (3), Jimmy Quail, Roger Warnes and a brilliantly taken penalty by Tony Knox, who had Mike Ockendon, the Hamlet goalkeeper, diving the wrong way.
Full marks to Dulwich Hamlet for their plucky and most sporting display. Their only reward for a hard afternoon's graft was a splendidly headed goal by centre-forward Steve Dunwoody that John Swannell could not get to.
It was a match for both clubs to remember - our first home game as Isthmians and Dulwich Hamlet's heaviest League defeat since the First World War.
