In the return fixture at Kingston on Boxing Day, we took command of the game to give the K's their biggest larruping of the season.
Peter Slade, switched to centre-forward after spending the first ten minutes on the left wing, scored the only goal of the first half, and went on to complete a fine hat-trick. Jimmy Quail fittingly scored the other.
Admittedly, Kingstonian were unfortunate in losing left-back Percy Vince with a broken nose after three minutes. He returned from hospital in less than half and hour and gave an inspired display for the rest of the game.
We also had bad luck with David Swain, at outside-right, pulled a groin muscle soon after the change-over.
