Another very fine performance by our lads at Enfield last Saturday saw us through to the semi-finals of the Middlesex Senior Cup.
This game, although not living up to the high standard of the previous three meetings between us this season, was first-class entertainment.
Not for the first time this season we found ourselves a goal down. This was a misjudgement by our keeper John Swannell. Alan McDonnell took a shot from 30 yards out that looked to be going wide. John came across and had it covered but it hit the bottom of the post and went in.
Within a minute we were level, a free kick just outside the area was taken by David Hyde and with uncanny accuracy found a gap in the defensive wall to score.
Half way through the second half and after a few misses by both sides Jimmy Quail took a hand. He put a beautiful pass down the middle to David Hyde. David sidestepped centre half Flavell and hit a left foot shot inside the post. This win puts us against Harrow Town in the semi-final.
