Although we beat Woking 4-0 it was not a performance which sent us into paroxysms of delight as not only were our opponents a rather poor side but we were also playing before our lowest League gate of the season - about 650.
WE had to make four late changes in our team as David Shacklock, Roy Sleap and Peter Drabwell were all unfit and Paul Clements was not available. Possibly the most satisfactory feature of the match - apart from the result - was the encouraging debut made by Graham Atkin who was pressed into the side at the last moment in the unfamiliar position of winger.
Still at school where he is studying French, 18-year-old Graham contributed to the first goal when his centre was headed in by Don Whyte.
The other scorers were Bobby Wilson, Tony Harding and an own goal. Man of the match was without a doubt Rod Haider.
