Hendon continued their preparations for the new campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over Combined Counties League side Bedfont Green, in a game played at Hayes & Yeading United's Warren ground.
There was one player not previously seen in the Hendon squad in the form of former Harrow Borough and Yeading player Emond Protain who came on as a substitute late on in the game.
The first half was one-sided in favour of the Greens, who were playing with the wind advantage. The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Brian Haule superbly headed home a free-kick from Ben Hudell.
Just four minutes later the lead was doubled when Dean Green eluded the tackles of a number of defenders and slotted the ball home from ten yards.
Luke Blackmore in the Hendon goal was tested just once in the first period when he parried a shot to the side of the goal and Marc Leach was in position to clear the ball to safety.
The second half was welcomed by a downpour which made the superb Warren pitch slick. The Greens' first chance of the half fell to Jamie Busby who saw his shot fly over the bar and shortly afterwards Green had a shot saved by the Bedfont keeper.
In the 67th minute Ben Hudell fired of a fierce shot which was superbly saved by the keeper and then Davis Haule saw his headed effort from the resultant corner cleared over the bar by a defender.
Two minutes later Lubo Guentchev made a run into the box and was brought down. Just as the referee was about to award a penalty, Daragh Duffy lashed home the loose ball for the third goal of the evening.
The Greens had further chances towards the end of the game, but James Parker's header fell just wide of the goal, Emond Protain saw his effort saved by the keeper and Lubo Guentchev fired a shot just wide of the goal. If it had gone in it would have been a superb strike.
