Hendon completed their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 win at Edgware Town on Monday evening. Gary McCann fielded a much changed side from Saturday with Derek Lewis returning in goal and Bontcho Guentchev making his first appearance of the season off the bench.
Hendon controlled the first half, but were unable to break the deadlock until the 40th minute when Daragh Duffy ran from inside his own half to pick up the ball, dribble it into the box and fire the ball into the net.
Edgware came into the game more in the second period without really testing Lewis. In the 79th minute Bontcho Guentchev entered the fray joining his sons Iavor and Lubo on the pitch. Unfortuntely Iavor had to leave the pitch with cramp six minutes later, but it was good to see the three Guentchevs on the pitch at the same time.
Bontcho Guentchev doubled the lead with a left foot shot after Lubo Guentchev had crossed the ball in the 87th minute, and in the final minute Wayne O'Sullivan completed the scoring with a run and shot.
