Hendon opened their pre-season campaign with a 2-2 draw against Godalming Town. The game was played over three periods of thirty minutes at Charterhouse School on a warm summers evening and was a good work out for both sides.
The first goal was scored by Godalming during the first period when a cross eluded the grasp of Luke Blackmore, and the second period was goalless.
Hendon's best period was the final half-hour and they equalised in the 70th minute when defender Frankie Wilson, who was previously with Leyton Orient, touched home a James Burgess corner. Shortly afterwards the Greens were in the lead when Douglas Kissule finished off a good move with a good finish. However Godalming ensured the game finished on level terms with a goal two minutes from time.
Gary McCann ran the rule over a number of potential new faces including defender Mark Kirby, striker Leon Nelson, goalkeeper Barclay Lawrencin and former Green Sam Byfield from Hillingdon Borough, midfielder James Bent and defender Frederick Yeboah from Harrow Borough, striker Anthony Aylett from Dagenham & Redbridge, fellow frontman Chris Bangura from Boreham Wood, and also Casey Maclaren's brother Kevin who was previously with Woking as well as Doug Kissule and Dave Maissa Diedhiou.
