Saturday 26 October - Woeful Greens beaten by Whitehawk

A woebegone Hendon were knocked out of the FA Trophy at the first stage this afternoon by Whitehawk.

Connor Tighe converted a left wing cross after 7 minutes and then converted a neat chip after an excellent stop by Chris Grace on 20 minutes.

Connor Calcutt reduced the arrears with 20 minutes remaining but within 90 seconds, the Greens conceded a penalty that defied belief. David Martin converted the spot kick and then Lewis Unwin's 20 yard strike squeezed under Grace to give the Hawks a convincing and deserved win.

Saturday 26 October - Greetings from Deadman and Anderson

David Ballheimer met up with two players of the past earlier this week at an event celebrating football in Essex in the 1970s.

Former Hendon stars Peter Deadman and Peter Anderson both wish the club well. The two men, who played for Hendon in the 1970s and early 80s, still look amazingly fit and well. Deadman, of course, is one of the most-capped players in England Amateur football history and played in both the 1972 Amateur Cup final and against Newcastle United in the 1974 FA Cup fourth round.

Yet to make a first-team apperance, Corey did make the bench as an unused substitute on a couple of times at the end of last season.

We welcome Corey to Hendon and wish him well for his time here.

Tuesday 22 October - Tre lifts Hendon

Hendon picked up their first league win in almost two months with a 2-0 win over Walton Casuals at Silver Jubilee Park this evening.

Debutant Tre Charles, signed last night from Northwood, opened the scoring with a well taken finish just inside the far post and Reece Mitchell doubled the advantage on 18 minutes with a neat finish from the edge of the box.

Walton had more of the ball after the break but apart from a header which hit the crossbar, the Greens kept their opponents at arms length to keep a first league clean sheet of the campaign.

Sunday 20 October - Late rally not enough for battling Greens

Hendon returned from their longest ever away league trip without reward yesterday afternoon despite a battling second half performance.

James Ward headed home a free kick for the hosts just five minutes in and Luke Jephcott was left with a tap-in after Dan Rooney had capitalised on a defensive error thirteen minutes later.

To the visitor's credit they dug in and steadied the ship, Chris Grace making three very good saves, before finding some attacking threat after the break.

Francis Amartey reduced the arrears with three minutes remaining with another excellent solo effort but it was too little too late to salvage anything from the game.

Incoming is Reece Mitchell who made a few appearances last season whilst on-loan from Wealdstone.

Reece also had a spell at Wingate & Finchley last term and re-joins us on dual-registration from Haringey Borough, going straight into the squad for Saturday's game.

Tuesday 15 October - Battling Greens beaten

A much improved, but youthful Hendon side went down 3-2 at Hayes & Yeading United this evening in their latest league fixture.

Missing more than half a dozen first team regulars, the Greens took the lead through a neat Francis Amartey finish after 19 minutes and went on to hit the inside of the post and underside of the bar before Omar Rowe was able line up a 20 yard strike to equalise.

Hassan Jalloh put the hosts in front three minutes after the restart and Ogo Obi won and converted a penalty 12 minutes from time to extend the advantage to two goals.

Amartey scored an outstanding solo effort with 2 minutes remaining to reduce the arrears and in spite of heavy Hendon pressure late on, the home side held on to secure the points.

Hendon improved after the break but were unable to get back into the game before Leroy Lita completed the scoring with a precise finish in second half stoppage time.

Tuesday 08 October - Non League Day - A Match for Luca

Saturday's game with Salisbury falls on the latest Non League Day. With large sections of the EFL and, of course, the Premier League on their international break, Non-League clubs have the chance to put themselves in the spotlight and show just what the game below the top-four levels has to offer.

This season we are honoured to play host to a number of friends and family who will be at Silver Jubilee Park to remember Luca Roberts, who tragically passed away in the summer. Luca attended his first Hendon game at the age of 2 and was a regular home and away for many years before moving down to the South-West. Even then, Hendon's results were the first he looked out for thanks to the advent of Social Media.

Luca's dad, Bryan - who most of you will know as our PA man and Supporters Trust board member, has arranged to sponsor the game, matchball and programme along with the rest of his family, whilst we will be delighted to welcome Henry Pearson, Caleb Meldrum and Abel Aldous as mascots for the afternoon. We will be holding a minute's applause in Luca's memory prior to kick-off and invite everyone who knew or remembers Luca to raise a glass in his honour.

Any season ticket holder at any of the 92 League or Premier League clubs will be eligible for reduced concessionary entry (6 pounds) upon production of their season ticket at the turnstile - this is a prime opportunity for Hendon regulars to bring a friend along to show them what Non-League football has to offer.

Finally, we will be holding the bucket collection in aid of the Non-League Day partner charity, Prostate Cancer UK - Please give as generously as you can.

Saturday 05 October - Greens bow out despite fightback

Hendon produced a brave fightback in the Emirates FA Cup 3rd Qualifying round at Hayes & Yeading just missing out in a nine-goal thriller.

Having been 3-0 behind at the break through a penalty from Ogo Obi, a goal from Jacob Cook and a Chris Grace own goal, it looked as though the hosts would secure a comfortable passage into the final qualifying round.

Kameron English reduced the arrears before an Omar Rowe goal made it 4-1 to the hosts. Hendon grabbed a second through Sam Corcoran with 20 minutes remaining before Francis Amartey tied things up with a brace.

Hassan Jalloh sealed the hosts' progression late on with the winner in the 88th minute, again from the penalty spot, as the Greens bowed out of the FA Cup for this season.
