Monday 31 July - Admission details for new season

The club are delighted to announce that admission for the new season remains unchanged for the new season at £8.00 for adults and £3.00 for concessions. However, due to the uncertainty of whether we will be groundsharing later this season, the decision has been taken not to issue season tickets this season. The club feel that it would be unreasonable to ask supporters to buy a season ticket when we are unsure when we may have to move out of Claremont Road.

Saturday 29 July - Greens rue poor start

The Greens were left rueing a poor start this afternoon as they lost 2-1 at Potters Bar Town in the third pre-season friendly. The home side took the lead in the 3rd minute with a long range free kick, and the lead was doubled a couple of minutes later when Potters Bar took advantage of some lax defending. From there on the first half was fairly even, Ross Pickett having the best chance to pull a goal back for Hendon. The second half was a different story as the Greens created a number of chances but couldn't quite find the decisive touch to score until Takumi Ake carried the ball through a number of challenges to score in the 87th minute.

Wednesday 26 July - Horsham away date moved

At the request of Sussex Police, our away game at Horsham will now be played a day earlier on Friday 25th August, kicking off at 8.00pm. The reason for the change is that both Horsham and Horsham YMCA were due to be playing at home on the same day, and the police were concerned about parking issues as the two grounds back onto each other. Horsham and ourselves agreed on an 8.00pm kick off to give players and supporters as much time as possible to get to the game.

Saturday 22 July - Hendon score eight at Wembley

Hendon had a profitable afternoon at Wembley today as they ran out 8-2 winners against their Combined Counties opposition. After Wembley had taken the lead early on, Ross Pickett, James Burgess, Jamie Busby and Lee O'Leary all scored in the first half. The goals continued to flow in the second half with Dean Thomas, Wayne O'Sullivan (2) and Dean Papali all finding the back of the net. Wembley's second goal came around the hour mark to make the score 6-2.

There were three new trialists in the squad today, goalkeeper Anthony O'Connor who has also trialed with Harrow this summer, Greg Deacon, a midfielder with experience at Watford, St Albans City and Stevenage Borough, and Dean Papali, an attacking player from Brook House. Also, we failed to mention last weekend in the list of players staying that James Parker is still with the club and should be available to play next weekend.

Saturday 15 July - All the comings and goings

Gary McCann took time out before the game today to give Greensnet a full update on all the comings and goings so far this summer on the player front. Beginning with the players that were with us at the end of last season, players who are still with us are Takumi Ake, James Burgess, Jamie Busby, Danny Edwards, Jimmy Froud, Adilson Lopes, Lee O'Leary, Ross Pickett and René Street. However, René will be unavailable for the next few weeks. Also still with us are reserve team defenders Conor Carroll, Francois Gabbidon and forward Lamelle Williams.

Unfortunately Ricci Crace has left us due to a change of circumstances that have made it difficult for him to make training sessions during the season. He is currently training with Enfield Town. Other players who are training elsewhere are Andy Cook (Hampton & Richmond Borough), Mark Cooper (Windsor & Eton), Dave Hunt (Enfield Town), Dave King (Tooting & Mitcham United), Marc Leach (Slough Town), Charlie Mapes (Hemel Hempstead Town), Blaise O'Brien (Hillingdon Borough) and Danny Murphy (Hayes). As reported elsewhere Byron Bubb has agreed terms with AFC Wimbledon, and his brother Bradley is also reported to be training with Dave Anderson's side. Meanwhile Belal Aiteourakrim and Darren Watson have not been in contact with the club since the end of last season so we have assumed that they have moved on. We would like to thank all the players who have left for their efforts last season and wish them all well for the future.

Now to go through the new faces that are training with us. As mentioned recently popular goalkeeper Richard Wilmot has joined the club from Hitchin Town adding some much needed experience in goal. Another familiar figure training with us at the moment is defender Yiadom Yeboah, who was with Yeading last season having previously been with Hayes. Craig Vargas is a defender who was with Brook House last season, whilst from the same club comes striker Dean Thomas. Leon Maloney is another striker who has been in local football recently, but some supporters will remember him scoring a goal for us in pre-season at Arlesey Town a few years ago under Frank Murphy.

Wayne O'Sullivan is a defender/midfielder who spent seven years at Arsenal as a youngster before moving on to Exeter City and Newport County. Kevin Mason is a right back who also has previously been at Arsenal, whilst Dwayne Williams is a central midfielder who was previously with Harefield United and has also played for Hayes. George Mapes, younger brother of Charlie, is a left winger who was with Northwood last season whilst Nas Richardson is a striker who was with Harefield United and AFC Wimbledon last term. Another new face training with us is Ryan Wharton who comes from Hillingdon Borough, along with Brazilian trialists Phillipe Souza and Alex Pessotti.

We welcome all the new faces to the club, and should they make the final first team squad in a few weeks time we hope they enjoy their time with us.

Saturday 15 July - Greens lose in first run out

The Greens lost their first friendly of the summer going down 3-1 at Boreham Wood on a hot afternoon. Fielding a number of new faces, the Greens started brightly and took the lead in the 11th minute when Takumi Ake intercepted a poor defensive pass and slotted the ball past Noel Imber. Three minutes later Marvin Samuel equalised for the home side. The best chance in the rest of the half fell to Leon Maloney who saw his lob saved under the bar by Imber.

Hendon certainly had the better of the first half, but Boreham Wood had the better of the second period. They took the lead in the 52nd minute when a clearance from Richard Wilmot rebounded off Darryl Cox into the net and the final goal came in the 83rd minute. However, Gary McCann will have learnt plenty about the new players he was looking at as he continues to build the side for the new campaign.

Therefore the decision has been taken to close the line down. The club would like to thank David Ballheimer for updating the Greensline over the years as well as all those others that have contributed.

Friday 07 July - Youth team trials a success

Over 100 youngsters came to the youth team trials yesterday much to the delight of our youth coaches. Our under 14 and under 16 teams have some new faces to add to their existing squads, whilst our new under 13 and under 15 managers both have enough players to make it worthwhile starting teams at those age groups.

However, under 13 manager Ben-Schiffer Harte has said that he is still looking for a goalkeeper. Anyone who is interested is welcome to the next under 13 training session on Thursday 13th July at 6pm in Clitterhouse Playing Fields.
