Tuesday 30 July - All level at Yeading

Hendon came away from Yeading this evening with a share of the spoils following a 3-3 draw against the Division One South side. Hendon took the lead in the 7th minute when Martin Randall flicked the ball home with his head. However, Yeading hit back twice in two minutes midway through the half to go in at half time in front. Eugene Ofori equalised early in the second half, only for Yeading to regain the lead soon afterwards. A second goal from Randall pulled things level shortly before the end.

Sunday 28 July - Defeat for second string

Hendon Reserves opened their new season with a disappointing defeat at the hands of Brook House's first team. Craig Ravenscroft gave Hendon the lead, but Brook House took advantage of a defensive error to equalise. A brilliant display by goalkeeper Danny Burton kept the scoreline down until half-time. Early in the second half, Brook House took the lead. Hendon had chances to get back into the game, only for Brook House to seal victory with a late 3rd goal. Manager Mark Turner said was very disappointed with the performance, but pointed that he had a lot of trialists on show and a few players unavailable.

Saturday 27 July - Three in a row for Hendon

Hendon travelled into the West Country this afternoon and came away from Team Bath, who play in the Screwfix Western League, with a 3-1 win. The goals came from Byron Bubb, Rob Haworth and Eugene Ofori. The game was delayed due to both linesmen failing to turn up, and Hendon supporters Paul Hutton and Steve Rogers stepped in, much to the amusement of the Hendon players. The Greens can go on to Yeading on Tuesday, full of confidence after another decent performance.

Saturday 20 July - Chertsey beaten

Hendon came away from their second preseason game with another win, this time beating Chertsey Town 2-1 at Alwyns Lane. Pat Sappleton gave Hendon the lead in the 42nd minute when he slammed the ball home from a Kieran Gallagher corner. In the 53rd minute Eugene Ofori scored after the Chertsey keeper flapped at another Gallagher corner. Chertsey replied in the 75th minute when Mark Lewis broke clear of the defence and chipped Dan Burton to score. The only new face this afternoon was midfielder Christian Metcalfe, who was with Farnborough Town last season. He will be quite well known to Hendon fans as he has previously been with Harrow Borough, Hayes, St Albans City and Aylesbury United.

Tuesday 16 July - Greens win first friendly

Hendon won their first friendly this evening, beating Wealdstone 2-1 at The 'Heathrow Club'. A 13th minute goal put the Greens ahead - Eugene Ofori's shot being deflected and just making it over the line - whilst the Greens' lead was extended in the 19th minute. Dale Binns broke down the left flank and knocked the ball into the path of Iain Duncan (finally returning from his long lay-off). Duncan's cross was met by Bates who headed home.
