Saturday 21 July - Hillingdon humbled

Hendon beat Hillingdon Borough 2-1 in their latest pre-season friendly thanks to goals from trialist Kofi Nyamah, who was with Hayes last season, and a last minute winner from Davis Haule. Nyamah put Hendon 1-0 up after just 7 minutes following a good build up involving Watson and Haule. Hendon then had more chances to add to their tally with the woodwork being struck and the Hillingdon substitute goalkeeper being forced to make a number of excellent saves. Two minutes from time Hendon conceded a soft penalty when Fitzgerald handled and the penalty was cooly stroked home. Right from the kick off Clarke burst forward and crossed for Haule who was able to compose himself before slotting the ball past the home keeper.

Mark Rawle opened the scoring for Southend from the edge of the box and shortly afterwards, Bramble scored a second. Hendon, who included new signings Ricci Crace and Jon-Barrie Bates amongst the new faces in their line-up went further behind on the stroke of half time Kevin Maher scored a fine solo effort to make it 3-0. Wednesday 11 July - Supporters Association AGM

Last night the Supporters Association held their Annual General Meeting in the Hampstead Suite at the club. The existing committee was voted in with no changes.

It was re-iterated once again that the Association are in desperate need of more help on matchdays to assist with selling programmes, raffle tickets, golden goal tickets etc. None of these jobs involve missing any of the game, so if you can help in any way, please see one of the committee.

Due to the bad weather, and fixture pile up last season, attendances obviously suffered, and consquently so did the donation made by the Supporters to the football club. Following the record donation last year of £15,000, the donation from the Association this year saw a drop of almost 50% to £7,665.

Following the formalities, Andrew Landesberg spoke to the supporters present and took a few questions. He reinforced much of what he said in the interview a few weeks ago, and said that we the club needs to be able to pay for itself. Money has been spent on the pitch this summer, and the commercial side of the club is going very well.

He is looking forward to working with Dave Anderson, and feels that the club is already in better shape and feels positive about the new season, although the club are very unlikely to deliver the championship.

New manager Dave Anderson also took time to speak at the meeting, and said that there was no bad feeling between him, Frank Murphy, Curtis Warmington and "JJ" (John Johnson), and that he had in fact spoken to all three of them within the past fortnight.

Dave spoke briefly about the two new signings so far and said that Jon-Barrie Bates is a very strong midfielder, full of tenacity and will be a huge benefit to the squad. The clubs new striker, Ricci Crace who has been signed from Ware is a great prospect, but Dave asked the supporters to be patient with Ricci as he settled into the club. Dave is talking to 3 or 4 other players, and Greensnet will of course carry details as soon as signings are confirmed.

As for players leaving the club, the only definite departure apart from the already reported Richard Wilmot who has joined St Albans City, is that Phil Gridelet, who has moved on. It also appears to be very unlikely that Jon Daly will play for the club either next season, as he is now working shifts for the Metropolitan Police, and the only club he is likely to play for for the time being is the Met. Police, in the Ryman Division Two. We wish both Phil and Jon well for the future.

The injury front is showing distinct improvements from last season. Paul Towler is expecting to play some part in the game against Southend tomorrow night, while Iain Duncan underwent surgery on his knee last week and expects to start training in about six weeks time. Gary McCann is also now reaching full fitness and will play against Southend. Former Portuguese Under-21 international, Gil Gomes, is also hoping to play some part in the game tomorrow night.

Saturday 07 July - Greensnet redesigned

To state the absolutely obvious (if you've been here before), Greensnet has just undergone a major redesign to this, the current format. All the old sections are still avaliable, with the addition of further old tables and more of Hendon's club history and more to hopefully come soon. With literally tens of thousands of links within the site, it is inevitable that some links may not work and that some pages may not display correctly, so if you spot anything strange, please let us know at
