Tuesday 31 May - Club Statement

"As many of you know, Rob Morris is a director of Kingsbury Town Management Company (the Company that owns the lease of Silver Jubilee Park) as well as a director of Hendon Football Club.

In his short time with the club, Rob has played a huge role in ensuring the club's long-term survival by enabling us to move to our new home at SJP in time for the start of next season.

With that task achieved, the time is now right for Rob to focus on his day job, namely the development of the many other partnerships that have been created by Kingsbury Town Management Company in order to ensure that it, like Hendon FC, will be around for many years to come.

Accordingly, Rob is standing down as a director of Hendon Football Club.

While we thank Rob for his massive contribution to the club, we are reliably informed that he, Joanna and Monty will be regular attendees next season and, hopefully, for many years to come."

Monday 09 May - Another bumper Snowball payout

Saturday's awards night saw the club bring the snowball draws for this year up to date, with a large sum of money paid out, including the largest prize pot to date of £495 for April.

The full list of winners can be found on the Snowball Page, but first prizes of around £300 were scooped by ball numbers 99, 191, 200 and 218, while around £150 was picked up by the holders of each of the numbers 1, 59, 66 and 84.

We thank everyone who's entered in the past and continues to do so and would encourage you to share the draw with your friends and family - the Snowball Draw in December is currently on course to be over £1200 with your odds of winning the jackpot being far better than the chances of winning around £100 in the National Lotto draw.

Monday 09 May - Thanks to Harrow Borough

The past three seasons have been made much easier thanks to the help and support from our friends at Harrow Borough.

In no particular order we would like to thank Peter Rogers, the Directors, Officials, Steve Watkins, Ray Watkins, Leanne, all the Clubhouse staff, bar members and users, Peter Webber, Babs & Bob in the Tea Bar, Alfie and the Ballboys, all the supporters, our wonderful friends at the Tanglewood Monday Club, local residents and everyone connected with or associated to the club for their friendship and support and for making us so welcome throughout our three season stay at Earlsmead.

We look forward to welcoming them to Silver Jubilee Park next season and in the years to come as well as returning to Earlsmead, simply as the away side.

Saturday 07 May - Silver Jubilee Park recommended for C grade

We are delighted to announce that Silver Jubilee Park has been recommended for a C grade, following a visit from the FA ground graders yesterday.

This means that once all the paperwork has been completed, we will be able to play all our home games at SJP. This should happen shortly.

An awful lot of hard work has gone into bringing our new home up to the appropriate standard to enable us to play Ryman League Premier Division football there, not least from Rob Morris who has masterminded the upgrade, and has spent many many hours working hard, along with Tom Stockman.

We would also like to thank all those supporters, players and contractors who have contributed to the work.

However, the hard work doesn't stop here. This is just the beginning of a new chapter in the club's history. We now need to work hard to lay the foundations for our future.

As our twitter feed mentioned yesterday, the move to SJP will bring us back to within a Curtis Warmington clearance of our spiritual home, and we need to begin reaching out to past and potential supporters.

We can only do this by everyone pulling together. Remember - Hendon Football Club belongs to the supporters - so please spread the word, invite people along, and if you have any ideas for fundraising or collaborations that'll raise the club's profile, please speak to any member of the trust board or association committee.

After eight years living a nomadic existence, we have a fantastic opportunity to grow Hendon Football Club.

Thursday 05 May - Gary furious at final performance

Gary McCann was raging after Hendon's 2-0 London Senior Cup final defeat against Tooting & Mitcham United on Wednesday night.

"The performance is even more disappointing than losing the game," he said. "It was a Cup Final so normally getting over the line is the only thing that matters. But this performance was just so unacceptable.

"After the game, I spoke to their manager, shook him by the hand and congratulated him. Tooting thoroughly deserved to win the game 2-0.

"Too many of our players had very poor games and to have only one effort on target - Casey Maclaren's header - tells its own story. We had a great chance to score when it was still 1-0 and it might have been a different story if that had gone in.

"It is now time for evaluation of the whole squad. I have a lot of work to in considering everyone in every position and deciding on the way forward. This has been my most difficult season yet and I consider it a complete write off."

Wednesday 04 May - Cup final disappointment

The first team's season ended in disappointment as Tooting & Mitcham United deservedly ran out 2-0 winners in the London Senior Cup Final - gaining revenge for last year's defeat.

Both goals came in the second half, the first after 65 minutes, and the second two minutes from time from the penalty spot.

The star man for the Greens was Joe Wright, who made a number of important saves, whilst at the other end Kezie Ibe and Casey Maclaren had the best chances to score.

A full report on the game will hopefully be online in the next few days.

Sunday 01 May - Cup final on Wednesday

The first team have one final game to play this season as they face Tooting & Mitcham United in the London Senior Cup Final - a repeat of last year's final. Last year the Greens ran out 3-2 winners after extra time, despite having to play 50 minutes with ten men. Aaron Morgan (2) and Kezie Ibe were on the scoresheet.

This is the 14th time the Greens have appeared in the final of the competition, and the 7th in eleven seasons, winning it five times so far. As well as last year's win, the cup was won in 1964 (1-0 v Enfield), 1969 (1-0 v Dagenham), 2009 (2-2 v Croydon Athletic - won 3-1 on penalties) and 2012 (2-0 v Kingstonian).

The defeats in the final came in 1936 (0-1 v Walthamstow Avenue), 1951 (3-4 v Bromley), 1955 (2-3 v Walthamstow Avenue), 1959 (2-5 v Tooting & Mitcham United), 1972 (0-2 v Enfield), 2006 (2-3 v Fisher Athletic), 2008 (2-3 v Tooting & Mitcham United), 2011 (1-3 v Wingate & Finchley).

The squad are continuing to train during the ten day break since the defeat at Bognor Regis Town, and Gary McCann is hoping that one or two of the injured players will be in contention for a place in the matchday squad.

The game takes place at Metropolitan Police's Imber Court ground, and kicks off at 7.30pm on Wednesday evening.
