Saturday 28 May - Edinburgh Marathon 2005

Following the exploits a few weeks ago of Phil Rogers, René Street and Dave Garner in running the London Marathon, Steve Rogers will be running the Edinburgh Marathon on 12th June to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Steve is expecting his time to be somewhat nearer Dave's time than Phil's! Saturday 28 May - Pitch work started

The summer remedial work on the pitch started this week. The contractors cut the pitch very short, and then rotovated the soil. Plenty of sand was added to it to continue to help the drainage and the whole pitch has been reseeded. This means the pitch has 7 weeks to settle down prior to the Bishop Auckland friendly.

Thursday 19 May - Sixth friendly arranged

A sixth pre-season friendly has been arranged, and we will be making the short trip to Kingsbury Town on Tuesday 9th August. Kick off at Silver Jubilee Park will be at 7.45pm.

Thursday 19 May - Youth players and managers wanted

The club are looking for players of all ages from 11 to 17 for the youth teams next season. Any youngsters interested should send a stamped addressed envelope to the club at Hendon FC, Claremont Road, London, NW2 1LT and the club will send out an application form by return. Also the search is on for experienced youth managers, and once again anyone interested should write to the club at the address above.

Wednesday 18 May - Isthmian League champions to visit

Isthmian League champions Yeading will be visiting Claremont Road for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 2nd August. The game will kick off at 7.45pm.

Tuesday 17 May - Same kit next season

It has been confirmed that there will not be a change of kit this summer and all Hendon teams will be wearing the same kit once again next season.

Sunday 15 May - Another friendly arranged

A fourth friendly has been confirmed and will take place on Thursday 4th August when we travel to Enfield Town for a 7.45pm kick off. Further friendlies are in the process of being arranged and will be announced as they are confirmed.

Sunday 15 May - Supporters Association AGM

The Supporters Association AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Tuesday 12th July at 8.00pm. Only supporters who were members of the Association for the 2004/05 season are eligible to attend the meeting. Membership of the association is now closed, and will reopen following the meeting for the 2005/06 season.

Friday 13 May - Provisional league line up announced

The Football Association have this morning announced the provisional league line ups for the 2005/06 season. These line ups are due to be ratified by the FA Leagues Committee on Thursday 19th May and show that we will be remaining in the Isthmian League as expected.

The line up for the Isthmian League Premier Division is expected to be as follows : AFC Wimbledon, Billericay Town, Braintree Town, Bromley, Chelmsford City, East Thurrock United, Fisher Athletic, Folkestone Invicta, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Harrow Borough, Hendon, Heybridge Swifts, Leyton, Maldon Town, Margate, Redbridge, Slough Town, Staines Town, Walton & Hersham, Wealdstone, Windsor & Eton, Worthing.

Of the other teams that were in our division last season, Northwood have been transferred to the Southern League along with Salisbury City. Yeading and Eastleigh have been promoted to Conference South, Cheshunt have been relegated to the Southern League Division One East, and Dover Athletic, Kingstonian and Tonbridge Angels have been relegated to the Isthmian League Division One.

Wednesday 11 May - April 150 club draw

The April draw of the 150 club was made this evening at the Supporters Association committee meeting, and the winning number is 105. The winner will be contacted in the next few days with their winners cheque for £150.

Wednesday 11 May - Two players return to Hendon

Gary McCann has made his first two signings of the summer, and in both cases it is former players returning to the club. Returning from Chertsey Town is defender Iain Duncan, who will be taking on coaching duties as well as continuing to play. Iain originally joined the club in 2000 and made 125 appearances, scoring 3 goals, before leaving last summer. Also returning is midfielder Kieran Gallagher who has spent the recent season with Billericay Town. Kieran played for us during the 2002/03 season, scoring 4 goals in his 32 appearances. We give both players a warm welcome back to the club, and hope they enjoy their time with us once again.

Saturday 07 May - Under 18s finish with a win

The playing season for all Hendon sides came to a close this afternoon as the Under 18s ran out 2-1 winners over Young Stars at Claremont Road. The goals were scored by Bradley Bubb and Stephan Chambers-Bignall, and they finish fourth in their division.

Saturday 07 May - King wins website award

With the man of the match voting now closed for the season, we are delighted to announce that Dave King has won the 2004/05 Greensnet Player of the Season award having won 8 of the man of the match votes this season. Runner up was Ross Pickett with 6 awards, while Mark Nicholls and John Frendo finished joint third with 5 awards. Mark Burgess, Danny Butler, James Parker and René Street all won 3 awards, while players winning 2 awards were Rob Courtnage, Danny Julienne, Gary Meakin, Steve McGrath, Dave Nolan, Jason O'Connor, Eugene Ofori and Dave Sargent. Four players won 1 award, those being James Burgess, Anthony Clark, Dave Hunt and Marvyn Watson. We will be running the man of the match votes once again next season.

Monday 02 May - Harrow match off

Tonights game was called off at 2pm by local referee Paul Vosper. Several areas of the pitch have standing water, and as Harrow are embroiled in the battle to avoid relegation there was no chance of the game going ahead.
