Belal Aite-Ouakrim was Hendon's hero this evening as he scored all four goals in a 4-1 victory over Premier Division newboys Concord Rangers.
In all fairness to the Essex side, the scoreline was not a fair reflection of the game, and indeed Concord were by far and away the better side in the opening period. It was totally against the run of play when Aite-Ouakrim opened the scoring with a fine drive across the keeper into the corner of the net. Concord equalised just before half-time courtesy of Harry Elmes.
Aite-Ouakrim restored the lead following a goalkeeping error from Dale Brightly in the 65th minute, and just seven minutes later he had completed his hat-trick with another excellent strike. His final goal came with 8 minutes to go when he buried the ball from close range.
Concord had their chances during the second period, but found Berkley Laurencin in fine form, and the Hendon defence held together much stronger than they had at Tooting on Saturday.
