Hendon beat landlords and hosts Wembley FC by a comprehensive scoreline this afternoon, running out 7-0 winners at Vale Farm this afternoon. The match was played at a relatively leisurely pace, and it wasn't until the 28th minute that the deadlock was broken, Lubomir Guentchev lobbing Wembley's goalkeeper from the edge of the penalty area. Glenn Garner then showed a cutting edge the Greens had largely been lacking last season by netting four times in just 27 minutes - twice before the interval and twice afterwards.
As the second half wore on and both sides made substitutions, the difference in level of football began to tell, with the visiting side spending more time with the ball and attacking, although the contest finished as early as the 76th minute, Lee Scott and Richmond Agyeman completing the scoring.
Two new faces turned out for the Greens today - Eddie Manully at right back, and Fabian Simms, who spent time with Kentish Town last season.
