A dogged performance by Harrow Borough saw them triumph in the Middlesex derby at a bitterly cold Silver Jubilee Park yesterday afternoon with a second half goal proving crucial.
Hendon had most of the attacking play in the first hour or so, yet were denied on several occasions by a string of good stops from Harrow's Tom Clark in goal. That said, Hendon's finishing lacked a clinical edge, something illustrated when Sam Shaban hit the crossbar from 10-yards out when he should have scored.
Harrow skipper Charlie Malin was sent off just before the hour mark for a wild swing at Bradley Dixon-Smith and the loss of their skipper galvanised the visitors. It was therefore little surprise when a corner kick from the right flank found its way into the net at the near post to give them the precious advantage.
Despite wave-after-wave of Hendon attack, the final ball was all-too-often poor, or picked out the oustanding duo of Reuben Collins and Harry Gallagher at the heart of the visiting defence. Hendon's frustration boiled over in stoppage time, when Dave Diedhiou swung with his fist at Collins and also saw red.
