Fareham put to the sword

Hendon completed a superb week in the league last night with a thumping 7-1 win over Fareham Town at Silver Jubilee Park.

The emphatic scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. While the Greens were clinical in front of goal, the Creeksiders were denied by another superb second half performance from Josh Strizovic, who made at least four excellent saves before being beaten.

A thumping Dave Diedhiou header from a corner gave Hendon the lead before Zak Joseph's virtuoso strike from the edge of the centre circle made it 2-0. Tobi Adaje added to the showreel with a quite brilliant left-footed volley from Brad Dixon-Smith's cross to give the Greens a 3-goal advantage at the break.

The fourth came against the run of play when Keagan Cole ran through several challenges from inside his own half before finishing with aplomb. Charlie Cooper reduced the arrears with a neatly taken low finish before late goals from Tahjae Anderson, Nikolai Krokhin, and Sam Shaban lifted Hendon to 12th in the table.

Next up for Ben Bukowski's men is a visit across the river to take on Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday in the FA Trophy.
