Hendon failed to capitalise on a dream start at South Park as their failure to hold onto a 2-goal half-time lead saw them return from Surrey empty handed.
Two well-executed dead-ball moves saw Sam Shaban glance home Dave Diedhiou's header back across goal inside three minutes for his first goal for the club. Shaban then returned the favour for Diedhiou three minutes later when his near post flick on was headed home from close range by Diedhiou to double the lead.
Diedhiou's afternoon was soured around the half hour mark when he was forced to leave the action. What many thought was a reoccurance of the knee issue that kept him out for much of last season was later confirmed as a groin strain.
Seconds after Shaban had looped a superb header against the bar, South Park got themselves back in the game with a low Thomas Smith drive just before the hour mark.
Once Alex Keating's fearsome low drive had levelled things up with 13 minutes to play, there was only likely to be one winner. And so it proved in the 93rd minute when Shamar Edwards fired home to seal the points for the hosts and leave Hendon still seeking their first win of the campaign.
