Hendon failed to make a positive opening 45 minutes count yesterday against Hartley Wintney as a second half horror show saw the home side open the season with a 3-0 win.
The Greens were the better side in the opening half, making use of the slope and a difficult, hard, dusty surface to pin the hosts back in their half. Nick Jupp made two good saves, one from Niko Muir and the other a superb reaction stop from J'ardell Stirling's bullet header. Meanwhile, at the other end, Josh Strizovic made a fine block to deny Hartley on the counter attack.
Roles were very much reversed in the second 45 minutes and after Kanye Moyo opened the scoring in the 55th minute, there only looked like one winner. Alex Body made it 2-0 from the penalty spot before Calvin Camara raced through and made it 3-0 five minutes from time.
On Tuesday night we host Bedfont Sports at SJP, kick off is at 7:45pm.
