A late Niko Muir winner settled a thrilling derby day clash between Hendon and Hayes & Yeading United at a damp Silver Jubilee Park this evening as the Greens kicked off 2024 with three hard-earned points.
The unfortunate Paul Field opened the scoring in the 4th minute, a clearance looping over his own goalkeeper off his back, before Cole Brown slotted home a penalty in the 28th minute to level things up.
Samuel Faniyan then broke clear 7 minutes later to slot Hayes into the lead before two Muir strikes inside a minute gave the Greens the advantage.
Former Maltese international and Hendon loanee Luke Gambin netted a superb effort from the edge of the box to make it 3-3 before chances went begging at both ends prior to Muir's late late show.
