The creation of the 2023/24 squad continues with the signing of vastly experienced mide midfielder Jason Banton from Brightlingsea Regent.

Jason has enjoyed a much-travelled career, coming through the ranks at Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool before joining Leicester City. After a loan spell with Burton Albion, Jason moved to Seattle in the US, before joining Crystal Palace on his return.

Spells with Plymouth Argyle and MK Dons followed before Jason moved to Plymouth permanently, and further spells with Wycombe Wanderers, Hartlepool United, Notts County, Crawley Town, and Partick Thistle followed.

Jason then moved to Woking and Torquay United where he enjoyed loan spells with St Albans City, Dulwich Hamlet and Truro City. After that, Jason joined Braintree Town, before moving onto Romford, Cray Wanderers, Kingstonian, Bishop's Stortford, Sittingbourne, Herne Bay and Brightlingsea Regent.

Our warmest welcome goes to Jason, who should feature this afternoon against Edgware & Kingsbury in the Jeffrey Over Cup.
