James Burgess made his 300th first team appearance for the club this afternoon, and the occasion was marked as he led out the team as captain wearing the number 9 shirt. The number 9 shirt was the only outfield shirt that James had not worn during his time with the club.
He made his debut way back in February 2002 against Cambridge City in the FA Trophy, but didn't score his first goal until October 2008 against Harrow Borough in his 232nd appearance. He then scored on the last day of last season against Carshalton Athletic, before finding the back of the net on Monday against Maidstone United.
James is the first Hendon player to reach the 300 appearance milestone since Simon Clarke. As well as his 300 appearances, James has been an unused substitute on 85 occasions.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate James on reaching this superb mark, which is so rarely done in this day and age.
