In his column for the Kings Langley programme, Simon mentioned that the Trust Board would be consulting fans about possible changes to the club’s ownership structure. He made it clear that the Trust Board is not advocating selling the club outright, simply recognising that being 100% fans-owned has advantages and disadvantages.
One key advantage is that we are in complete control of our destiny but we are a small club with limited resources, an ageing fanbase and dwindling income and the Trust Board feels that, in order to survive in the medium-term, we need to consider whether there is an alternative ownership structure that would allow us to bring in new money and expertise without giving up overall control of the club.
Trust members will shortly receive an email containing a link to an engagement survey that will be open throughout February. It covers a number of different aspects of the relationship that supporters have with the club and will help inform the Trust Board regarding next steps.
While it is only Trust members who would be eligible to vote on any matter relating to an alternative ownership structure, we welcome the views of every supporter whether or not they are Trust members. The more data we receive, the better informed we will be.
Accordingly, we would be very grateful if every Hendon supporter could complete the survey.
It should take you just a few minutes to complete and is available here
Paper copies of the survey will be available on match days for those supporters without access to email.
