On a day in which on-field events took a back seat, two-goal former Hendon striker Karl Oliyide struck twice on the opening ten-minutes against his old club to consign the Greens to a 2-0 defeat.
Before kick-off the Hendon side had to stand-by helplessly as one of their team-mates, Luca Allinson, was taken seriously ill. The swift intervention of the Hendon physio, Sophie Pyle and the Chesham United medical team ensured that Luca was able to be stabilised before being taken to hospital where he was undergoing tests yesterday evening.
Perhaps understandably, the Greens were slow out of the blocks and Oliyide took full advantage with his two goals to ensure the points, this time, stayed in Buckinghamshire.
The thoughts of everyone are with Luca and the Allinson family and we wish him a speedy recovery. We would also like to place on record our thanks to everyone at Chesham United for their speedy response and support yesterday afternoon.
