Saturday sees us renew acquaintances with Folkestone Invicta in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Trophy at the Buildkent Stadium.
Our hosts have enjoyed an outstanding start to their 2021/22 campaign remaining unbeaten so far, their only defeat coming via a penalty shoot-out against Eastleigh in the FA Cup last week following a pair of drawn matches. They come into this tie on the back of a 5-1 win at home to Kingstonian last Saturday and a 4-2 midweek win at Bognor Regis Town.
Matches between the two sides are rarely dull with the past five matches garnering no fewer than 24 goals. Of course, Hendon fans will remember fondly the 4-0 play-off semi-final win in 2017/18 which saw arguably the finest 45-minutes of football from a Hendon side in the past 30-plus years and the 2-1 win at Folkestone the season before that went such a long way to securing survival. Folkestone, for their part, won the last meeting between the two clubs in Kent coming back from 2-0 down in September 2017 to win 3-2.
