Another late defensive error was punished this evening as Mitchell Parker scored the winner for Hartley Wintney on a damp evening in Hampshire.
Josh Webb gave the home side an early lead with a fine curling effort as the Greens had to weather an early storm that saw another goal disallowed, the crossbar hit and Fred Burbidge extended.
It was far more even following the opening 20 minutes and with fifteen minutes remaining a fine Hendon move was ended with Joe White netting an excellent header.
As it looked as though both sides would claim a point apiece, with three minutes left a misjudgement by Fred Burbidge, as he waited for the ball to enter his penalty area, was punished by the alert Mitchell Parker who pounced to beat the Hendon goalkeeper to the ball and tapped the ball home to claim a crucial three points for the hosts.
