A first-minute own goal from Harrow Borough's Amit Biler was enough to settle a dour Middlesex derby and provide Hendon with a welcome three points.
The unfortunate Biler put through his own net after a Jayden Clarke header came back off the post in the first minute of the match. Although Harrow had the better of the first period they rarely stretched Fred Burbidge in the Hendon goal.
The home side were able to apply a bit more control after the break but were indebted to a fine Burbidge save midway through the second half to preserve the points.
The win lifts Hendon to 12th in the table as the focus switches to the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
