We were saddened to learn over the weekend of the passing of former Hendon manager Eddie Presland.
Eddie began his career with West Ham United before moving onto Crystal Palace, where he made 61 league appearances, before spells with Colchester United (on loan), Chelmsford City, Jewish Guild in South Africa and Wealdstone.
He then moved into management with the Stones before taking up the reins twice at Dulwich Hamlet, as well as spells with Gravesend and Northfleet and Dagenham. He became Hendon boss at the beginning of the 1984/85 campaign before moving on in February 1985.
As well as being proficient at football, Eddie also made 30 first class appearances for Essex and 24 List A games.
Eddie passed away on Sunday in hospital at Gateshead following a battle with cancer at the age of 78.
The thoughts of everyone connected with the club are with Eddie's friends and family at this sad time.
