St Albans City were victorious in the annual Allinson family derby this evening at Clarence Park as two first half goals gave the Step 2 side a 2-0 win.
Romeo Akinola tapped in to give the Saints the lead on the quarter hour mark before an injury saw Hendon goalkeeper Fred Burbidge carried off on a stretcher. Thankfully, the Greens' custodian was able to return home after the game following stringent tests.
Zane Banton doubled the St Albans advantage five minutes before the break sliding the ball home following a slick move down the hosts' right hand side and despite an improved Hendon showing after the break they failed to break down the home side's defence.
