We are devastated to have heard the news yesterday of the passing of our former midfielder Spencer McCall at the age of 26.

Spencer, a classy midfielder, played 30 games for us during the 2016/7 season scoring twice before moving onto Wingate & Finchley, where he played a key role in our FA Cup exit the following season, and Hemel Hempstead Town.

As well as being a talented player on the pitch, Spencer was one of the most approachable and genuine people you could wish to meet, always making time to chat with supporters, even after his departure from the club. A couple of years ago he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and was recently in Mexico for further treatment. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with the illness.

The thoughts of everyone connected with the club are with Spencer's partner, family and friends at this sad time.
