This evening sees us take on our co-tenants at Silver Jubilee Park, Edgware Town, in the inaugural Jeffrey Over Cup clash which kicks off at 7:30pm.
Jeffrey became a highly popular figure at Silver Jubilee Park from the moment Edgware Town moved in, becoming a committee member and often going around the bar before matches cajoling supporters of all hues into purchasing a square on a scratch-card.
As well as becoming an integral member of the SJP family through his work with Edgware, Jeffrey was an increasingly familiar face at Hendon matches over the last couple of years, attending many of our home matches when the Wares were on the road.
We were all devastated when news of Jeffrey's death was received earlier this year and are honoured to have been invited to remember his life and legacy this evening in front of many members of his family.
Edgware, now managed by former Hendon man Rakki Hudson following the departure of Fergus Moore, will be lining up in a new division this coming season having been moved into the Combined Counties League Premier Division following the FA restructuring this summer. Also amongst the staff at Edgware is former Hendon full-back Eddie Munnelly whilst veteran striker Maz Serwin made 10 appearances for the Greens in 2010/11, scoring twice in that time including a spectacular winner against Carshalton Athletic at Vale Farm.
Admission for the game is on a 'Pay What You Want' basis with a 50% share of the proceeds being donated to a charity chosen by Jeffrey's family. Please give as generously as you can.
In addition, Edgware will be producing an 8-page programme priced at 1 pound each.
The bar will be open for refreshments, please ensure that all safeguarding protocols are followed and ensure that masks are worn inside and that social distancing is adhered to within the ground.
