Goalkeeping coach Jason Scannell confirmed to the club over the weekend that he will be leaving the club and is expecting to return to Wealdstone in a similar capacity.
Jason was initially brought to the club by Jimmy Gray in 2018 before leaving along with Gray when Lee Allinson arrived at Silver Jubilee Park. Last summer, however, Jason returned in the same guise as goalkeeping coach to work with Jonathan North, who he had worked with closely during his previous 8-year stint with the Stones, as well as helping the likes of Charlie Patmore and Aaron Dillon as well.
Jason said "I am very happy with Hendon, the management team and the players, however I have been offered the goalkeeping role back at Wealdstone. I thought really hard as I feel Hendon are going places and it's always a joy to be involved with a successful squad. However, Wealdstone is a place I developed with for 8 seasons so really struggled to say no."
Jason leaves SJP with our thanks for all his hard work at the club and our best wishes for the future.
