Hendon began their pre-season preparations on a warm lunchtime at Merchant Taylors School in Northwood today with a 2-1 win over Northwood FC. In what was very much a training game, which consisted of 4 periods of 30 minutes, all three goals came in the third period. Northwood took the lead with a 30 yard free kick, but the Greens equalised when a Danny Edwards cross was poked past the Northwood keeper by one of his defenders. The winner was scored by Daragh Duffy from close range.

There were five new faces in the line up in Casey Maclaren, who was with AFC Wimbledon last season, Junior Adeoye, who was with Harrow Borough, Allan Crosby, a tall striker who has previously been with Braintree Town, Harrow Borough and Hillingdon Borough, Lubo Guentchev, brother of Iavor and son of Bontcho, and Kenda (we don't know his surname yet!) who is a friend of Takumi Ake.
