And now we move across the pitch to look at those that created and scored goals, primarily from the left flank over the years.

We include a man who went on to play in the Premier League and another now regularly appearing in League 2 not to mention an FA Amateur Cup winner, an FA Trophy victor and a man who clocked up more than 600 games in the Football League before he came to Hendon.

Bob Avis: 255 appearances, 163 goals (1945 - 1956)

Two-time Athenian league title winner and runner up in the same competition on three occasions, also picked up a Middlesex Charity Cup winner’s medal.

Miles Spector: 280 appearances, 151 goals (1955 – 1963)

Set-up the winning goal in the 1960 FA Amateur Cup Final against Kingstonian, won the Athenian League twice, 3 Middlesex Senior Cup winner’s medals and a Middlesex Charity Cup winner’s medal.

Junior Lewis: 149 appearances, 69 goals (1996 – 1999 & 2011 - 2012)

Scorer of the winning goal at Brisbane Road against Leyton Orient in the 1997 FA Cup 1st round, won 2 Full Members Cups and a Middlesex Senior Cup before clinching a move into the Football League that included a Premier League spell with Leicester City.

Dale Binns: 217 appearances, 41 goals (1999 – 2004 & 2016)

Part of the side that reached the FA Cup 2nd round in 1999, although not in the side that played Blackpool, won 3 Middlesex Senior Cup winner’s medals in the early 2000s under Dave Anderson in consecutive seasons.

Darren Currie: 46 appearances, 4 goals (2011 - 2013)

A member of Hendon Youth before joining West Ham and enjoying more than 600 appearances in the Football League. Won the London Senior Cup in 2012, scoring in the final against Kingstonian.

Ashley Nathaniel-George: 59 appearances, 17 goals (2017 -2018)

Won the Middlesex Senior Cup in 2018 and scored in the play-off final against Dulwich Hamlet in the same year before clinching a move to Crawley Town where he is now a regular.

Later this evening we'll take you through the long shortlist of centre-forwards vying to lead the line for the Legends side.
