Hendon continued their renaissance with a superb 2-1 win over play-off chasing Gosport Borough this afternoon at SJP to mark Dermot's day with a well deserved win.
After a cagey first half in which Percy Kiagnebeni hit the crossbar and Shaun Lucien hit the crossbar, it was Lucien that opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a superb 25-yard strike that gave Patrick O'Flaherty no chance.
Joe White made it 2-0 with 14 minutes remaining and was unfortunate not to make it 3 when he rounded the keeper but had his effort brilliantly cleared off the line. Matt Patterson reduced the arrears with 3 minutes remaining but the Greens saw out five minutes of stoppage time relatively comfortably to continue their climb away from the danger zone.
