Off to the Robins' nest

The first team are heading south of the river again tomorrow as they visit Carshalton Athletic for the first meeting between the two clubs this season.

The Robins, who were amongst the pre-season favourites, have had a poor season, and are on their third manager of the campaign. Hayden Bird left the club early in the season and was replaced by Francis Vines, who in turn departed a few weeks ago. The man in charge is now Ian Hazel, who has brought in a few new signings, although strangely most of his signings are players who were released in the first few weeks of the season!

Like ourselves, Carshalton have been involved in and around the relegation zone for much of the season, and did themselves no favours by losing 1-0 to Bognor Regis on Tuesday evening.

Gary McCann will be hoping that the Greens can continue to build on the recent encouraging performances. Three points would help put ourselves a decent distance clear of the bottom four as we look to avoid relegation.

Kick off at Colston Avenue tomorrow is at 3.00pm and for those unable to attend, our livescores service should be operational as normal on the messageboard.
