Our final home pre-season game this evening saw a much fancied and expensively assembled Billericay Town side triumph by the odd goal in 3 on a sultry evening at Silver Jubilee Park.

In spite of the result, it was another encouraging performance for the Greens who started with three trialists and went close to opening the scoring when Matty Newman's drive was repelled by Alan Julian.

Moses Emmanuel opened the scoring shortly before half-time seizing on indecision in the home defence to neatly lob Luke Sheldrick and sub Adam Cunnington extended the lead on the hour mark with a slick low strike from 25 yards.

Ogo Obi reduced the arrears with a quarter of an hour to go with a well taken goal, capitalising on a Charlie Wassmer error having twice gone close from free-kicks and despite plenty of pressure, the Greens were unable to fashion an equaliser.

Next up is a trip to Wodson Park on Saturday as we take on Ware FC. Kick off for that one is 3pm.
