A hat-trick from Rocky Neal secured a 3-2 win for Taunton Town at Silver Jubilee Park this afternoon, a result which kept things interesting at both ends of the table.
The visitor's victory keeps them in the title hunt with two games to play following Weymouth's draw with Chesham whilst the Greens are now three points above the drop zone with two games to play.
Rocky Neal was the visitor's hero with a superb hat-trick. He opened the scoring in the 7th minute, a strike that was equalised in the 23rd minute by a superb piece of Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick opportunism.
Within 60 seconds Neal regained the advantage for the visitors with a superb solo goal of his own and although Hendon had the greater possession after the break, they failed to work the Taunton goalkeeper.
Neal completed his treble with a couple of minutes remaining from the penalty spot before Ogo Obi curled in a beautiful strike in stoppage time off the post, a goal that proved no more than a consolation.
The Greens visit Chesham United on Monday afternoon in pursuit of the result that could secure their Step 3 place for next season.
