The first team won their second FA Cup replay of the season this afternoon with a professional performance as they won 4-0 at Lancing. A trip to Chippenham Town on Wednesday evening now awaits.
In the shadow of the South Downs, the Greens took the lead in the 13th minute when Stephane Ngamvoulou fired the ball into the roof of the net. As on Tuesday evening, Lancing defended in numbers, but the lead was doubled in the 31st minute when a penalty was awarded for handball, and Ricardo German stepped up to score his 13th goal of the season.
Gianni Crichlow was introduced early in the second half at the expense of Marvin Morgan, who had picked up a knock, and he made an immediate impact, scoring within a minute of entering the fray. The final goal came in the 72nd minute when Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick found the back of the net with his fourth goal in four games. Mention must be made of Cole Brown, who on another day would surely have scored a hat-trick but found the home keeper Tyler D'Cruz in excellent form as he made a string of good saves.
Most importantly, progession to the third qualifying round was secured, and another £9,000 in prize money has been won as a result.
