The first team, who ended up playing 55 minutes with ten men, showed real character and desire to beat Harlow Town 2-1 after extra time in the FA Cup replay this evening. Their reward, together with the £6,000 prize money, is a home tie against Phoenix Sports who won 3-0 at Lancing in their replay. The tie will be played at SJP on Saturday 22nd September.

On a mild but wet night, the first half was goalless, with chances at a premium. The Greens were reduced to ten men in the 64th minute when Prince Mbengui picked up his second yellow card, but in the 77th minute Romario Jonas headed home to give the Greens the lead. However, Harlow equalised as the game moved into stoppage time, J.J. Da Cruz the scorer.

The home side put the Greens under plenty of pressure in the opening exchanges of extra time but gradually seemed to run out of ideas, with the Hendon back line keeping them at bay.

The winner came from the penalty spot with two minutes to go. Ricardo German, who had worked very hard all night without any reward, was clipped by the Harlow keeper, and German stepped up to convert the spot kick with aplomb.
