In a game that was much more closely fought than on Thursday, St Albans City ran out 2-1 winners over the Greens.
The Saints, who included former Greens Luke Tingey, Dave Diedhiou, Roman Michael-Percil, Khale Da Costa and Harold Joseph in their squad, took the lead in the 11th minute, and doubled it shortly afterwards with a fine effort.
The Greens were always in the game, and created some chances, but were unable to find the back of the net until the 87th minute when Dylan Kearney was sent clear and he finished clinically. As the game moved into stoppage time, Cole Brown was fouled in the box, but Kearney saw his well struck spot kick saved by the feet of the diving keeper.
Next up is a trip to London Colney on Tuesday evening.
