Hartley Wintney are the fourth club we will face this season who we have never played before. Based in the village of Hartley Wintney in North Hampshire, they were formed in 1897 and began life in the Basingstoke & District League, before joining the Aldershot & District League in which they won three consecutive titles in the 1970s.
They joined the Home Counties League in 1978, which became the Combined Counties League in 1979. They won the championship in 2015-16 but were unable to take their place in the Southern League as they were unable to make the necessary improvements to their ground in time, but won the title again the following year and were able to take promotion to the Southern League. They earnt promotion via the play-offs at the first attempt to be promoted to the Premier Division for the forthcoming campaign.
Their best FA Cup season came in 2013-14 when they reached the 4th Qualifying Round, being knocked out by Daventry Town, and they reached the 5th Round Proper of the FA Vase in 2014-15, eventually going out to Hereford in front of a crowd of 1,300.
