Speaking to Greensnet this morning, Gary McCann confirmed that 33 year old midfielder Dean Green will be leaving the club and joining league rivals AFC Hornchurch. The Essex side offered Dean, who now lives in Ilford, a package that he couldn't really refuse. Dean joined the club early last season from Staines Town, and immediately became a regular in the side. He made 55 appearances for the Greens, scoring 12 goals.
Gary said "I'm disappointed to lose the services of Dean as, along with the recent departure of Craig Vargas, it has weakened the squad. However, as always we are looking to bring players in who will improve the squad and we hope to have replacements on board soon. Of course, despite the disappointment it doesn't alter the focus of the group which is to continue building on our results and turn the excellent start into an excellent season."
The club would like to thank Dean for his efforts over the past year and wish him all the best for the future.
