We are delighted to be able to announce that Niko Muir's name will feature on the ball to be used in Saturday's FA Cup final.
The FA's theme for the Final is to celebrate is as the competition "For All", which gives them the opportunity to champion not just the two finalists, but all 737 clubs who took part in this season's competition from the Extra Preliminary Round onwards.
The have placed the names of 137 goalscorers from this year's competition on the Cup Final ball. The "Ball For All" celebrates a selection of players from Step 6 of the National League system (we play at Step 3) through to the Premier League, who all share the accolade of scoring in the world's oldest domestic cup competition.
Niko has been selected for scoring in the first round qualifying tie against Wingate & Finchley, and is a deserving reward for his goalscoring exploits this season. The club will also be receiving a ball in due course.
Another initiative that the FA have done is to light up its iconic arch and outer screen in the name and colours of each of the 737 teams to play in the competition this season. We will hopefully have a link later this week for the image of our name and colours in lights. We'll circulate this as soon as we get it.
