Update on the race for the play-offs

The race for the play-offs is still wide open, with Billericay Town being the only side guaranteed a top five finish as things stand, although Dulwich Hamlet only need a point to secure their top five place. As for ourselves, if we win all our final three league games we'll be guaranteed a play-off spot without having to rely on other results.

The only side that can move above us during this midweek is Leatherhead, but they would need to win at Brightlingsea Regent on Monday evening, and also at home to Dulwich on Wednesday evening, although Staines can close the gap if they win at Metropolitan Police on Thursday evening, just 48 hours after our Middlesex Senior Cup Final. Like ourselves, Leiston are without a midweek league game, whilst Margate only have Saturday fixtures left to play.

What this all does mean is that there is a huge amount to play for as we enter the final fortnight. Saturday's final home game of the season against Merstham is just as important as the potential six pointers against Leatherhead and Leiston in the final week, who in turn play each other on Saturday afternoon. Looking at this weeks fixtures, it looks as though Saturday could be a key day. However, with points continuing to be dropped by all the clubs involved, things can easily change.

This weeks fixtures involving the top eight are as follows:

Monday 16th April
Brightlingsea v LEATHERHEAD

Tuesday 17th April
Dorking v BILLERICAY
Thurrock v FOLKESTONE

Wednesday 18th April
LEATHERHEAD v DULWICH

Thursday 19th April
BILLERICAY v Needham Market
Met Police v STAINES

Saturday 21st April
Burgess Hill v STAINES
FOLKESTONE v DULWICH
HENDON v Merstham
LEATHERHEAD v LEISTON
MARGATE v BILLERICAY
