A moment of individual magic from Ashley Nathaniel-George, and a penalty save from Tom Lovelock ensured the first team came away from Thurrock with a 1-0 victory.
The first half was best described as scrappy, with neither side really getting hold of the game. Unfortunately it did see Keagan Cole leave the field with an ankle injury just before half time - and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Nathaniel-George's moment of magic came in the 52nd minute when he went on a mazy run, holding off a number of challenges, before firing the ball past former Hendon keeper Ben McNamara. Midway through the half, the home side were awarded a penalty, but Jordan Clark's effort was well saved by Tom Lovelock, and the team held on to secure all three points.
