Those of you who have seen the Bath City matchday programme will have seen a Stat Attack article on the quickest players to 20 goals since we joined the Isthmian League - Niko Muir being the fourth quickest behind David Hyde, Iain Dowie and Gerry O'Rourke.
However, Niko Muir is now our second highest goalscorer at the end of the December, since we joined the Isthmian League in 1963, after his hat-trick at Harlow yesterday afternoon. His 29 goals is beaten only by David Hyde, who was on 38 goals by the end of December 1964 (he went on to score 59). Iain Dowie had left the club by the end of December 1988 having scored 25 goals, whilst Gerry O'Rourke was on 24 goals at the end of December 1963, the same total as Paul Whitmarsh in 1998 and Jefferson Louis in 2013. Niko also became the eighth player to hit 40 goals under Gary McCann.
On a slightly different subject, yesterday was the first time in 8 league games that the player wearing number 4 failed to score!
